Job summary

Excelin Marketing OPC is seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to maintain our fleet of trucks and delivery vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness and safety. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs to minimize downtime.

You will inspect, service, and repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and related components while keeping accurate service records and complying with safety standards. In-person work in Metro Manila is required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Vocational Graduate in Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, or related field.
• NC II in Automotive Servicing or Diesel Engine Servicing is an advantage.
• At least 2–5 years of experience as a Truck Mechanic or Fleet Maintenance Technician.
• Experience in maintaining light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty trucks.
• Familiarity with diesel engine systems and fleet maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all company trucks and fleet vehicles.
• Conduct routine inspections before and after maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures.
• Repair diesel and gasoline engines and associated components (transmissions, brakes, steering).
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform welding/fabrication when needed.
• Conduct road tests after repairs to verify performance.
• Maintain maintenance records and reports; coordinate with Fleet Supervisor.

About the role

Job Summary

The Truck Mechanic / Maintenance is responsible for ensuring that all company trucks, delivery vehicles, and equipment are maintained in safe, reliable, and roadworthy condition. The position performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses mechanical and electrical issues, carries out repairs, and assists in minimizing vehicle downtime to support uninterrupted business operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on all company trucks and fleet vehicles.

• Conduct routine inspections before and after maintenance.

• Change engine oil, transmission oil, differential oil, and other lubricants as required.

• Replace filters, belts, hoses, batteries, and other wear-and-tear components.

• Monitor vehicle mileage and maintenance schedules.

Repair and Troubleshooting

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures.

• Repair diesel and gasoline engines.

• Repair or replace transmissions, clutches, brakes, steering, suspension, and driveline components.

• Troubleshoot electrical systems including starters, alternators, wiring, and lighting systems.

• Perform welding and fabrication work when necessary.

• Conduct road tests after repairs to verify vehicle performance.

Inspection and Safety

• Inspect trucks for roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.

• Identify potential mechanical issues before they become major failures.

• Ensure all repairs comply with company safety standards.

• Report major repair requirements to the Fleet Supervisor.

Fleet Maintenance Support

• Respond to emergency vehicle breakdowns.

• Coordinate with drivers regarding vehicle concerns.

• Assist in maintaining maintenance records and service history.

• Recommend replacement of parts and equipment when necessary.

• Ensure proper inventory and storage of spare parts and tools.

Housekeeping

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop.

• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

• Observe proper waste disposal and environmental practices.
