About The Client
Our client is a fast-growing Australian company in B2B payments and rewards. They help businesses turn everyday transactions into rewards and growth. Their travel team helps clients get the most value from the rewards points they earn.
The Opportunity
This is a specialist Travel Consultant role built around reward flights. You'll dig into award availability across airline frequent flyer programs and find clients the best-value way to get where they're going. When needed, you'll also look after their bookings from start to finish.
What Sets This Role Apart
- A specialist reward travel role rather than a high-volume booking queue
- Daily work with programs such as Qantas, Velocity, KrisFlyer, Asia Miles, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Aeroplan
- Direct support for Australian business clients alongside an Australian-based team
- A role where research skills and creative problem-solving make a visible difference
Key Responsibilities
Reward flight research
- Research reward seat availability across airline and frequent flyer programs
- Find the best-value redemption options by comparing routing, cabin, points cost, taxes and carrier surcharges
- Build clear reward itineraries with alternative dates, routings and partner airlines when availability is limited
- Advise clients on points transfer requirements and conversion rates
- Monitor availability and waitlists for priority requests and act quickly when seats are released
Booking support
- Manage end-to-end bookings including flights, accommodation, ground transport and ancillary services
- Create, modify and ticket bookings using Sabre GDS and online booking tools
- Process changes, cancellations and reissues in line with fare rules and frequent flyer program conditions
Client service and documentation
- Respond promptly to client and internal enquiries by email, queues and internal messaging
- Present reward options in a clear format that's easy to action
- Escalate complex or urgent matters to the Australian-based team
- Keep accurate records in CRM, ticketing and booking systems
- Stay across frequent flyer program changes, award charts, sweet spots and airline rules
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience as a Travel Consultant or in a travel or rewards role
- Hands-on Sabre GDS experience (essential)
- Proven experience with reward seat research and frequent flyer redemptions
- End-to-end booking experience across airfares, accommodation and ancillaries
- Strong knowledge of airline alliances, partner award availability and points conversion
- Solid understanding of fare rules, ticketing, reissues and exchanges
- Strong attention to detail and the focus to handle extended research
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Availability to work hours aligned with the Australian business day
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting Australian clients or working with an Australian-based team
- A degree in Tourism, Hospitality or a related field
Who This Role Suits
This role suits an experienced Travel Consultant who enjoys hunting for reward seats. You know your way around Sabre and treat award charts as a puzzle to solve. You're analytical, patient with detailed research and confident explaining options clearly to clients.
