Job Description
The Territory Manager – VISMIN will lead Unioil’s Commercial (including Lubricants) and Reseller Fuel sales across Mindanao, driving aggressive market entry and customer acquisition in preparation for Unioil’s upcoming fuel terminal in the region. Based in Davao, the Territory Manager will be responsible for building a strong customer base, executing business development strategies, and ensuring consistent sales performance in a competitive petroleum market.
This role is highly field-oriented and demands strong prospecting, relationship-building, and account management capabilities. The Territory Manager will use SalesForce CRM to manage leads, track sales activities, maintain customer pipelines, and provide accurate sales intelligence.
He/she will report directly to the Sales Manager (VISMIN).
RESPONSIBILITIES/AUTHORITIES
1. Business Development & Market Penetration
- Drive Unioil’s entry into the Mindanao market by aggressively acquiring new customers for Commercial Sales, Lubricants, and Reseller Fuels channels.
- Develop and implement territory sales strategies aligned with regional and national growth objectives.
- Establish a strong market presence and position Unioil as a competitive, reliable partner in the fuel and lubricants sector.
2. Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Identify, qualify, and convert high-potential leads, including industrial, manufacturing, transportation, mining, power, construction, logistics, and reseller accounts.
- Build strong customer relationships through regular visits, technical selling, business reviews, and solution-based engagement.
- Ensure excellent service by coordinating with logistics, supply, operations, customer service, and credit & collection.
3. Sales Execution & Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual volume, profitability, and customer build-up targets.
- Monitor and report competitor movements, pricing strategies, and market conditions within Mindanao.
- Present proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with pricing, credit, and operational policies.
4. CRM Discipline & Reporting (SalesForce)
- Utilize SalesForce CRM to log all sales activities, pipeline movements, customer information, and opportunity progress.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of leads, customer interactions, forecasts, and sales performance data.
- Leverage CRM insights to prioritize activities and manage the sales funnel effectively.
5. Support for Terminal Development Strategy
- Build a strong customer base that will ensure immediate commercial viability once Unioil’s Mindanao terminal is operational.
- Provide market intelligence on demand clusters, logistics patterns, and infrastructure needs related to the upcoming terminal.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager (VISMIN) and leadership team on strategic planning for terminal ramp-up.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Supply, Logistics, Finance, and Operations to support account onboarding and service fulfillment.
- Troubleshoot customer concerns and ensure rapid resolution in coordination with support teams.
- Align sales activities with marketing initiatives, product programs, and safety compliance.
PROCESSES
- Facilitate regular discussions with the VISMIN Sales team to ensure the proper execution of approved plans, assess progress, and conduct evaluation.
- Control operating expenses through strict adherence with department budget, up to date submission of expenditures together with itineraries and visit reports through SalesForce.
- Coordinate with C&C department to ensure implementation of credit and collection policies.
- Propose pricing schemes for key accounts.
- Prepare and review sales contract, ensuring terms and conditions are fulfilled (contract management).
- Validate and endorse the proposed selling prices (spot or hedged).
- Review and endorse account opening and amendment requests for approval by the Sales Manager (VISMIN).
- Regularly monitor accounts’ performance.
- Visit customers according to customer ranking/level and establish good rapport.
