Job summary

Northstar Shipping and Marine Services Inc. in Manila is seeking a capable supervisor to oversee daily terminal and port operations, including berthing vessels, cargo handling, and yard movements.

You will coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and safety procedures, monitor performance, lead foremen and stevedores, and ensure regulatory compliance while liaising with shipping lines, port authorities, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily terminal and port operations including vessel berthing and cargo handling.
• Coordinate vessel schedules, manpower, equipment deployment and operations.
• Monitor cargo flow, yard utilization and vessel turnaround times.
• Lead terminal staff such as foremen, crane operators and stevedores.
• Ensure compliance with port regulations, safety and company policies.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, port authorities, Customs and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit schedules, manifests and operational documentation.
• Identify delays and resource issues and implement productivity and cost controls.
• Investigate incidents, cargo discrepancies and safety concerns.
• Ensure smooth handover between shifts.

• Supervise daily terminal and port operations, including vessel berthing, loading and unloading, cargo handling, and yard movements.
• Coordinate vessel schedules, manpower assignments, equipment deployment, and operational requirements.
• Monitor cargo flow, yard utilization, equipment productivity, and vessel turnaround time.
• Lead and supervise terminal personnel, including foremen, crane operators, stevedores, checkers, and other operations staff.
• Ensure compliance with applicable port regulations, safety and security procedures, and company policies.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, port authorities, Customs, trucking providers, stevedores, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit operational reports, schedules, manifests, and other required documentation.
• Monitor operational delays, equipment availability, and resource utilization, and recommend measures to improve productivity and control costs.
• Investigate and report operational incidents, cargo discrepancies, safety concerns, and other irregularities.
• Ensure proper coordination and turnover of operational activities between shifts.
