Private Advertiser is seeking a Teppanyaki Chef in Cebu City to prepare and cook premium Japanese dishes using teppanyaki grills. You will perform grilling, searing, and live demonstrations, engaging guests while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
The role requires 1–2 years of experience in luxury or fine-dining settings, strong knife skills, knowledge of HACCP, and the ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment.
Prepare and cook premium Japanese dishes using the teppanyaki grill according to established recipes and quality standards.
Perform teppanyaki cooking techniques, including grilling, searing, sautéing, flambéing, and food presentation.
Conduct live cooking demonstrations and engage appropriately with guests during the dining experience.
Prepare high-quality seafood, meats, vegetables, rice, sauces, and other Japanese ingredients.
Ensure proper portioning, seasoning, cooking temperatures, and presentation of all dishes.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation in accordance with the restaurant's standards.
Demonstrate knowledge of premium ingredients such as Wagyu, premium seafood, scallops, lobster, prawns, and Japanese vegetables.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients following food safety and sanitation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the teppanyaki station, equipment, and surrounding work areas.
Monitor food quality and freshness and report any concerns regarding ingredients or equipment.
Coordinate closely with the kitchen team, service team, and restaurant management to ensure smooth service.
Assist in menu preparation, recipe development, mise en place, and kitchen preparations as required.
Minimize food wastage and properly manage ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Handle kitchen equipment safely and report equipment issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
Provide a polished, professional, and hospitable experience to guests consistent with a luxury Japanese dining concept.
Perform other culinary duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
At least 1–2 years of experience as a Teppanyaki Chef, preferably in a Japanese, luxury hotel, fine-dining restaurant, or high-end dining establishment.
Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and teppanyaki cooking techniques.
Experience handling premium meat and seafood products.
Excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles.
Good communication and guest-interaction skills.
Confident and comfortable performing live cooking in front of guests.
Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about Japanese cuisine.
Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
