Job summary

Axelum Resources Corp. is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Specialist (Laboratory) to support laboratory operations, quality control, and product safety across our manufacturing operations.

You will conduct microbiological and physicochemical testing, maintain laboratory records, and collaborate with QA and Production to uphold GLP, GMP, and food safety standards. Strong attention to detail and hands-on laboratory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant science field.
• Experience in laboratory testing, quality control, or food manufacturing.
• Hands-on microbiological and/or physicochemical analysis preferred.
• Knowledge of GLP, GMP, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological and physicochemical testing of materials, in-process and finished products, water, and samples.
• Perform analyses according to approved methods and specifications.
• Prepare samples, reagents, media, and materials for testing.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure accuracy, reliability, and proper documentation of test results.
• Review lab results and flag deviations from specifications; escalate as needed.
• Maintain laboratory records, worksheets, and test reports.

Axelum Resources Corp. is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Specialist (Laboratory) to support laboratory operations, quality control, and product safety across our manufacturing operations.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in laboratory testing, microbiological and physicochemical analysis, quality control, laboratory equipment, and food manufacturing who can ensure accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory results.

About the Role

The Technical Specialist (Laboratory) is responsible for conducting and supporting laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, water, and other samples to ensure compliance with established quality and food safety standards. The role works closely with Quality Assurance, Production, and other relevant functions to support product quality and safe manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct microbiological and physicochemical laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, water, and other samples
• Perform laboratory analyses in accordance with approved methods, procedures, and specifications
• Prepare samples, reagents, media, solutions, and other materials required for laboratory testing
• Operate, maintain, and perform routine checks of laboratory equipment and instruments
• Ensure accuracy, reliability, and proper documentation of laboratory test results
• Review laboratory results and identify deviations, abnormalities, or results outside established specifications
• Report significant or out-of-specification results to the appropriate personnel for proper action
• Maintain laboratory records, worksheets, test reports, and other required documentation
• Assist in the calibration, verification, and monitoring of laboratory equipment and instruments
• Perform environmental monitoring and other laboratory activities as required
• Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of laboratory samples, reagents, and materials
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the laboratory
• Follow established laboratory procedures, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety requirements
• Assist in method validation, verification, and improvement of laboratory procedures as needed
• Support internal and external laboratory audits and inspections
• Coordinate with Production and Quality teams regarding laboratory results and quality-related concerns
• Participate in investigations and root cause analysis related to laboratory results, product quality, and process deviations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory and quality control operations

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Technology, or a related field
• With relevant experience in laboratory testing, quality control, or food manufacturing
• Hands-on experience in microbiological and/or physicochemical analysis is preferred
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, testing methods, sampling, and laboratory documentation
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instruments, and basic troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety standards
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting laboratory tests and recording results
• Ability to interpret laboratory results and identify deviations from established specifications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment and on a shifting schedule
• Experience in food processing, FMCG, coconut processing, or similar manufacturing operations is an advantage
