Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Civil Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in large manufacturing projects.
• Proven experience leading a small team on site execution.

Job Description

Dimensions:

• 1. Responsible for the complete maintenance of the civil and structures in the unit level.
• 2. Prepare schedules for the preventive maintenance for the building, roads, structures, etc.
• 3. Study, design and implement the layouts for the new machineries in the plant
• 4. Prepare the ROI for the new projects and place it before the management for decision making.
• 5. Liaise with architects, contractors for the construction of the building, structures and layouts.
• 6. Prepare necessary documents and liaise with Govt. Officials for obtaining the approvals.
• 7. Explore the cost effective alternatives for the new projects.
• 8. Explore and ensure the compliances in terms of Labour, EHS, etc while executing the job.
• 9. Should know major softwares like Autocad, Rivita, etc
• 10. Capable to design, prepare layout and construction

Key Accountabilities:

A. Strategic :

Understand the Customer requirements on the process and prepare the structures, buildings and layouts in consultation with the process owners for better facilities.

• Design and supervise the construction of civil structures and layouts
• Explore and suggest cost effective methods for the construction or alteration of the structures, layouts without comprismaining the safety aspect.
• Ensure the ROI based on the layout modification or construction of new structures

B. Operational :

• Ensure the design and supervise the construction or implementation of layouts as per the approved desgin
• Ensure the construction activities are within the budgeted timelines and cost.
• Ensure the right materials and quantities are used for the construction of buildings or structures / fabrications.
• Ensure the right manpower is deployed in the site to carry out the activities as per the schedules
• Ensure the safety aspect of the structures, manpower and equipments in the working site.
• Ensure the necessary statutory compliances are followed for the activities in terms of men, machinery and materials.
• Ensure the quality of the constructions, meeting specifications, right quanitities used.

C. Financials :

• Ensure the design, construction and modifications are within the budget.
• Ensure the project activities are executed well within the time limits
• Ensure the Quantity and Quality of the construction / fabrication are as per the spec.

D. People :

• Ensure high level of employee engagement and retention of key team members
• Set goals, review and manage performance, guide and counsel and provide feedback to subordinates
• Provide subordinates with training and the required growth opportunities to ensure their development
• Support leadership capability building initiatives to facilitate succession planning for critical roles within the department
• Foster and champion environment conducive for innovation, quality and change.
