You will use Bluebeam and Edge Estimating tools, maintain accurate quantities, and help hand off completed work for final pricing. A detail-oriented, process-driven mindset is essential.

Takeoff Assistant

• Work Type: Full-time.

• Schedule: Standard US business hours, with occasional overtime and weekend work required based on bid schedules and workload demands.

• Location: 100% Remote.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Takeoff Assistant for a highly focused production role designed to increase the overall throughput and capacity of our estimating department. By performing detailed quantitative take-offs and compiling initial material quotes, you will allow Senior Estimators to focus on advanced scope compilation, margin strategy, and final verification. This role is ideal for a process-driven professional looking to minimize risk and accelerate bid output while advancing their estimating career based on demonstrated competency and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Quantification: Perform highly accurate, digital quantity takeoffs for various disciplines (including Low Slope, Steep Slope, Glazing, and Cladding) utilizing Bluebeam and Edge Estimating software.

• Quote Compilation: Solicit, receive, and compile quotes from material suppliers and vendors, organizing them effectively for the Senior Estimator’s review.

• Data Entry & Processing: Input foundational takeoff quantities and baseline material pricing into the designated estimating systems.

• Project Handoff: Package the completed takeoff and compiled quotes cleanly, handing them off to the Senior Estimator for final compilation, verification, and pricing strategy.

• Continuous Improvement: Meet established production metrics, actively apply coaching and feedback to reduce errors, and consistently develop your estimating skills and accuracy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Entry-level to 2 years of professional experience in construction, estimating, or a related field.

• Technical Proficiency: Willingness and ability to learn industry estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Edge Estimating) and standard data entry tools.

• Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong ability to follow established processes, take direction, and reliably meet production metrics. Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening.

• Remote Infrastructure: Must have a dedicated, noise-free home office setup equipped with a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a backup power source.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus):

• Basic familiarity with construction drawings, blueprints, and industry terminology.
