Systems Manager (Estimating Technology)

• Work Type: Full-time.

• Schedule: Standard US business hours, with occasional overtime and weekend work required based on bid schedules and workload demands.

• Location: 100% Remote.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly technical Systems Manager to bridge the gap between construction estimating and software administration. Acting as the custodian of the department's technical tools, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the core software ecosystem used by the estimating team—specifically Edge Estimating, Bluebeam, and advanced Microsoft Office applications. By ensuring systems are up-to-date and driving the standardization of workflows, this role is critical to maximizing departmental efficiency, minimizing errors, and supporting overall revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Management: Regularly update and maintain the Edge Estimating database, ensuring material costs, labor rates, and production factors are highly accurate and current.

• Template Creation: Develop and maintain complex, macro-enabled Excel spreadsheets and standardized Word proposal templates utilized across all roofing and cladding disciplines.

• Bluebeam Optimization: Create and deploy standardized custom toolsets, profiles, and markup layers in Bluebeam Revu tailored for different construction scopes (e.g., Low Slope, Steep Slope, Glazing).

• Training & Support: Serve as the primary technical resource by training new hires on software standards and providing ongoing troubleshooting and support for existing staff.

• Process Improvement: Proactively identify software bottlenecks and propose technical solutions or workflow adjustments to increase estimating throughput and eliminate rework.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in construction technology, estimating software administration, or a similar systems management role.

• Technical Proficiency: Advanced, hands‑on proficiency in Edge Estimating, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel (formulas, macros, Power Query), and Word.

• Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the excellent communication skills required to translate complex technical software concepts to non‑technical end‑users clearly. Must be able to pass a pre‑employment screening.

• Remote Infrastructure: Must have a dedicated, noise‑free home office setup equipped with a reliable, high‑speed internet connection and a backup power source.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus):

• Strong background in the commercial construction industry, with specific experience in roofing or cladding being a major plus.
