Cloudstaff Philippines Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to own estimating from bid receipt through a complete proposal for management approval. You will review construction documents, perform takeoffs, obtain vendor pricing, and prepare clear bid packages for internal review.

The successful candidate will work with our team to develop estimating capabilities, document assumptions, and ensure accurate pricing, with training provided on our products and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to receive a bid package and independently move it through estimating process.
• Clearly answer what is included in scope, drawings reviewed, quantities identified and how calculated.
• Identify typical floors or quantity multipliers and any conflicts or ambiguities in documents.
• Document assumptions, exclusions and qualifications for accurate scope and pricing.
• Obtain outside/vendor pricing and prepare requests for quotation.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to take ownership of estimating in a small business and help develop our capabilities as we expand. We provide established estimating procedures and product training, while expecting the estimator to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively identify missing information.

This is not simply a quantity takeoff position. The successful candidate must be able to review construction documents, understand project scope, identify requirements and discrepancies, perform accurate takeoffs, obtain vendor pricing, develop estimates, document assumptions and qualifications, and prepare a complete bid package for management review.

The goal is for this individual to take ownership of an estimate from receipt of the bid documents through preparation of a complete proposal for management approval.

Experience with signage and other Division 10 or Division 8 scopes is strongly preferred but not required. Strong construction estimating fundamentals, attention to detail, analytical ability, and ownership are more important. We will provide training on our products, scopes, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Review invitations to bid, architectural drawings, schedules, specifications, addenda, and other construction documents.
• Determine the applicable scope of work and identify the drawings and specification sections relevant to the estimate.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu.
• Review floor plans, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications together rather than relying on a single source.
• Identify typical or repeated floor plans and correctly apply quantity multipliers.
• Export Bluebeam takeoff data and organize quantities in Excel.
• Categorize products and quantities accurately for estimating.
• Identify scope gaps, drawing/specification conflicts, unclear requirements, and items requiring clarification.
• Develop and document assumptions, exclusions, and qualifications necessary to accurately define the company's scope and pricing.
• Identify products requiring outside/vendor pricing.
• Prepare clear requests for quotation and coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing.
• Track pricing received versus pricing still required.
• Enter material, vendor, and other cost information into the company's estimating worksheets.
• Assist with labor and installation estimating based on established company standards.
• Prepare customer proposals using company templates and pricing procedures.
• Maintain organized electronic estimate files, revisions, supporting documentation, and takeoff records.
• Incorporate addenda and revised construction documents into estimates and maintain clear revision history.
• Prepare a concise management-review package that allows management to understand and review the estimate efficiently.
• Participate in estimate review meetings and clearly explain scope, quantities, assumptions, risks, pricing needs, and outstanding questions.
• Maintain assigned bids and deadlines and proactively communicate issues that could affect completion.

Qualifications and Requirements

A successful estimator should be able to receive a construction bid package and independently move it through the estimating process. Before management review, the estimator should be able to clearly answer:

• What is included in our scope?
• What drawings and specifications were reviewed?
• What quantities were identified and how were they calculated?
• Are there typical floors or other quantity multipliers?
• Are there conflicts or ambiguities in the construction documents?
• What assumptions or qualifications should be included?
• What vendor pricing was required?
• What pricing has been received and what remains outstanding?
• Is the proposal complete and ready to send after management’s final review and pricing approval?
