Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in the same field.
• Technical skills experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain virtualization environments using VMware vSphere, vSAN, Nutanix.
• Perform routine server/storage/backup maintenance, patching, upgrades.
• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions ensuring data integrity.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, with vendors when needed.
• Identify platform problems and provide timely solutions.
• Design system improvements to increase infrastructure efficiency and user experience.
• Plan hardware upgrades and Health Check activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams for planning and deployment.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for incidents outside hours.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving IT infrastructure, with a focus on virtualization, servers, storage, backups, and hyper-converged systems (HCI). The role ensures systems are secure, reliable, scalable, and always available to support business operations and disaster recovery.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with VMware, storage solutions, backup tools, and HCI platforms like vSAN or Nutanix. They will troubleshoot complex issues, work closely with other teams, and ensure the client’ infrastructure remains stable and fully operational.

This role includes participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation to respond to critical issues, perform fixes, and minimize downtime outside of normal business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain virtualized environments using platforms such as VMware vSphere, vSAN, or Nutanix.

• Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades on servers, storage systems, and backup infrastructure.

• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and fast recovery times.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, independently or in coordination with vendors.

• Identify and diagnose platform-specific problems, providing timely and effective solutions.

• Recommend and design system improvements to enhance infrastructure efficiency and user experience.

• Plan and execute hardware upgrades and perform regular Health Check activities to maintain system reliability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams for infrastructure planning, integration, and solution deployment.

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure and respond to incidents outside regular hours.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field

• At least 1 year of experience in the same field

• Technical Skills experience is an advantage:

1. Virtualization - Knowledge in VMware vSphere Virtualization (ESXi, vCenter Server, VSAN)

2. Server Administration - Installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers; BIOS/UEFI, firmware upgrades, and hardware troubleshooting; Linux server administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)

3. Storage Solution - Understanding of SAN, NAS, DAS; Knowledge with storage systems from vendors like Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, Hitachi, Pure Storage or the likes

4. Veeam Backup & Replication Software - Experience with backup solutions (e.g. Veeam, Rubrik, Commvault)

5. Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) - Experience with VMware vSAN, Nutanix, Sangfor, Huawei HCI
