Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Supervisor, Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance to lead a Manila-based team within the GBS organization. You will partner with Stateside leadership to ensure quality, consistency, and scalable audit and risk operations, stepping into hands-on work when needed.

You will mentor staff, manage timelines, and contribute to strategic initiatives while maintaining governance and compliance standards within healthcare services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred; CPA required within 3 years of hire.
• 7 years of direct experience in Internal Audit or Risk Management.
• Experience supporting healthcare operations or healthcare-related organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance professionals with high performance and engagement.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for operational, audit, and risk-related questions.
• Partner with Stateside leadership to align priorities, service expectations, and standards.
• Monitor KPIs, audit timelines, dashboards, and reporting; drive process improvements.
• Provide coaching and career development support for GBS team members.
• Support execution of Internal Audit strategic initiatives, including optimization and tech utilization.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position:

The Supervisor, Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance support functions within the Global Business Services (GBS) organization. This role serves as the primary people leader for Manila-based Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance team members, ensuring efficient service delivery, operational alignment, and achievement of quality standards. The Supervisor partners closely with Stateside leadership to drive consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement across audit and risk operations. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role is expected to step into Internal Audit work as needed to support workloads, audit timelines, staffing gaps, and critical initiatives. This role supports both operational execution and the continued expansion of GBS capabilities supporting stateside teams.

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead and develop a team of Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance professionals, ensuring high performance, accountability, and engagement
• Serve as the primary escalation point for operational, audit, and risk-related questions and issues within the GBS team
• Partner with Stateside Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance leadership to align priorities, service expectations, and operational standards
• Monitor team performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), service legal agreements audit timelines, dashboards, and operational reporting; identify trends and implement process improvements
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and development support for GBS team members, including performance management and career development activities
• Support execution of Internal Audit operational strategy, including process optimization, standardization, reporting enhancements, and technology utilization
• Oversee the day-to-day coordination, prioritization, and allocation of Internal Audit and Risk & Insurance support activities, while providing hands‑on operational support during peak periods, staffing gaps, and critical initiatives to ensure service continuity and timely delivery.
• Support Internal Audit, and Risk and Insurance programs through audit testing, process and control documentation, issue tracking, reporting, risk monitoring, and operational coordination activities to strengthen governance, compliance, and control effectiveness.
• Lead or support special projects including operational improvements, transition activities, system implementations, and scalability initiatives
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, internal controls, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards

Licensing/Certification

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor CISA CPHRM (Preferred at hire; Required within 3 years of hire)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related discipline (required)

Work Experience

• 7 years of direct experience in Internal Audit or Risk Management (required)
• Experience supporting healthcare operations or healthcare‑related organizations (required)
• 5+ Experience leading teams or serving in a supervisory/lead capacity (required)
• Experience supporting U.S.-based operations or shared services environments (preferred)
