Director, Clinical Operations

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

As a leader of leaders, the Director, Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing and driving operational excellence for clinical support functions within the Global Business Services (GBS). This leader provides strategic and day-to-day oversight of the following primary areas: Virtual Safety Companion (Telesitter Observer) Operations to support patient safety and monitoring across the U.S. health system. Credentialing Verification Services for non-delegated provider credentialing requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Non-Clinical Care Coordination Support, including scheduling and patient resource navigation for a designated group of covered lives.

The Director, Clinical Operations serves as a liaison between GBS teams and health system leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, performance standards, and patient-centered outcomes.

Essential Job Functions

• Provides operational leadership for virtual safety companion teams, ensuring patient monitoring practices align with U.S. health system protocols and safety standards.
• Directs and oversees credentialing verification activities for non-delegated providers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with health system policies, accrediting bodies, and regulatory requirements.
• Leads non-clinical care coordination functions (scheduling, navigation, patient resource support) to ensure high-quality service delivery for designated covered lives.
• Manages and develops a team of professionals, setting goals, reviewing performance, and supporting career development.
• Acts as the primary liaison between GBS teams and U.S. health system leaders, ensuring clear communication, operational transparency, and strong alignment with customer needs.
• Builds, coaches, and develops high-performing teams; fosters engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Drives process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives across all assigned functions, leveraging best practices, performance data, and US leader feedback.
• Anticipates evolving business needs; proactively designs and implements operational shifts to meet strategic goals.
