Job summary

Negros Power is hiring a Substations Project Supervisor to lead day-to-day substation development, upgrades, and refurbishment projects onsite in Bacolod City. Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day substation development, expansion, refurbishment, and upgrades.

Negros Power is looking for professionals to join our growing team as a Substations Project Supervisor. This is a full-time on-site role located in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

Role Description

As a Substations Project Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day implementation of substation development, expansion, refurbishment, and upgrade projects. The role ensures that project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved engineering designs, project schedules, quality requirements, regulatory standards, and utility specifications. You will work closely with Substation Engineers, field personnel, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support the timely and successful completion of substation projects.

1. Supervise the day-to-day implementation of substation construction, installation, expansion, refurbishment, and upgrade projects.

2. Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with approved engineering designs, specifications, work plans, schedules, and quality standards.

3. Coordinate with Substation Engineers, contractors, suppliers, and field personnel in the execution of project activities.

4. Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the progress, workmanship, and quality of substation construction and installation works.

5. Ensure that substation equipment, materials, and installations conform to approved specifications and applicable utility standards.

6. Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, equipment specifications, material requirements, and technical documents before and during project implementation.

7. Monitor contractor performance and ensure that work is completed within agreed timelines, specifications, and contractual requirements.

8. Coordinate with Procurement and other concerned units regarding the availability, delivery, inspection, and utilization of project materials and equipment.

9. Support coordination with System Operations, Protection, SCADA, and other technical groups during installation, testing, energization, and commissioning activities.

10. Ensure that project activities comply with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) guidelines, safety requirements, environmental standards, and utility policies.

11. Monitor project schedules and promptly identify delays, site issues, technical concerns, and other implementation risks for appropriate action and escalation.

12. Assist in the preparation of project progress reports, site reports, accomplishment reports, and other project documentation.

13. Coordinate with contractors and other stakeholders in addressing construction issues, technical concerns, and site requirements.

14. Supervise testing, inspection, punch-listing, rectification, and turnover activities prior to project completion and commissioning.

15. Ensure proper documentation and turnover of completed substation facilities, equipment, and project records.

16. Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with established occupational safety and health requirements at project sites.

17. Provide technical and operational support in the implementation of substation projects and other related network development activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

• Professional Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in power distribution projects.

• Leadership Experience: At least 1 year of leadership experience.

• Licenses/Certifications: Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).

• Strong knowledge of substation systems, protection and control, SCADA integration, and HV/MV equipment.

• Proficient in project management tools, AutoCAD, MS Project, and power system simulation software such as ETAP.

• Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects involving multiple stakeholders and regulatory requirements.

• Knowledge or experience in digital substation development or grid modernization initiatives.

• Strong understanding of electrical distribution utility operations, network planning, and reliability metrics.

• Strong project coordination, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with engineers, contractors, suppliers, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.

• Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and timely project execution.
