Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve delays; support catch-up schedules.

Role Description

As a Substations Project Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and execution of substation projects. The role involves developing project plans, preparing electrical designs and cost estimates, monitoring project implementation, providing technical and troubleshooting support, and ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to support the successful completion of substation projects.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in completing prerequisites and deliverables for substation projects in a least-cost and efficient manner, including the preparation of bills of materials, bills of quantities, and cost estimates.

2. Prepare conceptual electrical designs and grid interconnections for substation projects and stay informed on emerging trends and technologies.

3. Conduct field inspections and site visits to monitor project implementation and progress and identify site issues and concerns.

4. Prepare progress reports for substation projects, including critical paths, potential issues, slippage, and delays.

5. Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues that may cause project delays and support the implementation of catch‑up schedules.

6. Ensure proper implementation of project sites in accordance with technical specifications, contract requirements, and industry standards.

7. Assist in preparing required documents, permits, negotiations, and land acquisition requirements for proposed substation projects.

8. Assist in preparing Terms of Reference (TOR) and Commercial Provisions (CP) for bidding documents related to substation projects.

9. Assist in the selection process, including canvassing and recommending vendors, suppliers, and service providers for substation projects.

10. Conduct testing and commissioning of high‑voltage equipment associated with substation projects and recommend readiness for energization.

11. Adhere to company safety standards and promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Education: Must be a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree-holder.

• Professional Experience: No professional experience required.

• Licenses/Certifications: Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).

• Knowledge and skills in AutoCAD and SketchUp applications.

• Knowledge of load flow analysis and capacity analysis.

• Strong project management and strategic decision-making skills.

• Strong technical knowledge and adaptability in handling engineering projects.

• Strong team collaboration and communication skills.

• Driving experience: At least 1 year preferred.

• Must possess a Driver's License with applicable restriction codes: B-M1-NP-MT (preferred) or A-L3-NP-MT (optional).
