Responsibilities
- Turnover and coordinate daily with next shift Substation Engineer, Plant Operation and Maintenance, and other service providers under normal and abnormal conditions regarding plant operation/maintenance.
- Coordinate with Grid/Utility for required reports and requirements during shift.
- Coordinate with Grid/Utility during planned and unplanned isolation/energization during shift.
- Coordinate and conduct joint meter readings with Plant Operations during shift.
- Switching operation of Substation Equipment (115kV and 22kV) per instructions from authorized personnel.
- All isolation and restoration of line/equipment comply with approved switching sequence.
- Document all switching operations performed.
- Monitor operational parameters on plant equipment.
- Gather initial information such as annunciator panel indication, relay/protection actuated, relay targets (both sides of the zone for transmission line), weather, lightning arrester counters, and visual observations at switchyard.
- Immediate reporting of all fault incidents including initial information and coordination to different functional groups in Plant Operation.
- Hourly update on status of rectification until line/equipment normalized; record all details of tripping incident in form and operations logbook.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance schedules as specified in Owner’s O&M manual.
Qualifications Summary
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in monitoring and operation of substation operation and maintenance.
- Preferably with valid professional license.
- Knowledgeable in operation and monitoring of substation equipment, monitoring and protective devices.
- Knowledgeable in fault/alarm interpretation is an advantage.
- Good communication skills.
- Can drive manual and automatic vehicle types and possess valid driver’s license.
- Willing to be assigned in Tanay, Rizal.
