Job summary

Thames International School in Metro Manila is seeking a Student Affairs Manager to enhance campus life and support the holistic development and well-being of students. You will lead programs, oversee housing, and partner with faculty to create an inclusive, engaging environment.

You will coordinate student services, advocate for student needs, manage residential life, and administer conduct processes with fairness.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee a diverse range of student events, clubs, and activities that cater to the interests and needs of the student body.
• Collaborate with student leaders, campus organizations, and faculty advisors to support the development and sustainability of student-led initiatives and organizations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of student programs and events through feedback mechanisms, surveys, and assessment tools, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Provide advocacy, support, and resources to address the academic, personal, and social needs of students.
• Coordinate support services and resources, including counseling, health services, disability accommodations, and financial aid, to ensure accessibility and effectiveness.
• Advocate for student interests and needs within the institution, working collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and staff to address systemic barriers and promote student success.
• Oversee the administration and operations of residential life and housing services to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment for students.
• Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and community standards that promote a positive residential experience and foster a sense of community and belonging.
• Provide leadership and supervision to residential life staff, including resident assistants and housing coordinators, to ensure effective support and resources for residential students.
• Implement initiatives and programs to promote residential engagement, student well-being, and a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion within residential communities.
• Administer student conduct processes and facilitate conflict resolution to uphold community standards and promote a safe and respectful campus environment.
• Investigate and adjudicate student conduct violations in accordance with institutional policies and procedures, ensuring fairness, due process, and student rights.
• Provide support and guidance to students involved in conduct incidents, facilitating conflict resolution, mediation, and restorative justice processes as appropriate.
• Collaborate with campus partners, including academic departments, residence life, and campus safety, to address behavioural concerns and promote a positive campus climate.
• Develop and implement initiatives to support student success, persistence, and retention throughout their academic journey.
• Coordinate orientation programs, transition support services, and first-year experience initiatives to facilitate a smooth transition for incoming students and promote early academic engagement.
• Provide proactive outreach and support to students at risk of academic probation, withdrawal, or other challenges, connecting them with resources and interventions to support their success.
• Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty mentors, and tutoring services to provide holistic support and academic interventions for students experiencing academic difficulties.
