Job summary

SYC Philippine Corporation is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join our team in Pasig City, Metro Manila. You will design, analyse and oversee structural systems for various construction projects, ensuring safety, durability and cost-effectiveness while adhering to building codes.

Responsibilities include detailed design, analysis, drawings, site inspections and collaboration with architects, project managers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
• PRC license as Civil/Structural Engineer (Philippines).
• 3–5 years of professional structural engineering experience in construction.
• Proficient in ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro or equivalent.
• CAD proficiency with AutoCAD or similar software.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine Building Code and structural standards.
• BIM knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and modelling for load-bearing capacity and feasibility.

About the role

SYC Philippine Corporation is seeking a talented and dedicated Structural Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Pasig City, Metro Manila, where you will play a crucial role in designing, analysing and overseeing structural systems for a variety of construction projects. As a Structural Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of safety, durability and cost-effectiveness whilst complying with all relevant building codes and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and produce detailed structural designs and calculations for building and infrastructure projects using industry-standard software and methodologies

• Conduct structural analysis and modelling to assess load-bearing capacities, stress distributions and overall project feasibility

• Prepare comprehensive structural drawings, specifications and technical documentation for construction teams and contractors

• Perform site inspections and assessments to identify structural conditions, potential issues and opportunities for improvement

• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration and delivery

• Review and approve contractor submissions, including shop drawings and material specifications, to ensure compliance with design intent

• Conduct quality assurance checks and inspections throughout the construction phase to verify structural integrity and adherence to specifications

• Provide technical support and recommendations for problem-solving during construction phases

• Ensure all designs and documentation comply with Philippine Building Code, safety regulations and applicable industry standards

• Maintain detailed project records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution

• Professional licensure as a Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer in the Philippines (PRC registration required)

• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in structural engineering, design or analysis within the construction industry

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro or equivalent programmes

• Strong knowledge of the Philippine Building Code, National Structural Code and other relevant local and international building standards

• Competency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, preferably AutoCAD or similar applications

• Solid understanding of reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundation design and other structural systems

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative and practical engineering solutions

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work within project timelines and budgets

• Experience with project management software and familiarity with construction site practices is advantageous

• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) or previous experience in BIM-based projects is highly desirable
