Job summary

Newport World Resorts is seeking a qualified lawyer to provide comprehensive legal services to the company. You will handle contract preparation, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including SEC, IPO, and PSE, and support special projects under the Chief Legal and Admin Officer and Director for Legal Services.

Qualifications

• Law degree holder and member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
• Two to three years of relevant legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and company obligations arising from contracts.
• Assist in timely reporting and regulatory compliance with the SEC, PSE and IPO.
• Prepare letters and/or correspondences to government and other entities.
• Maintain corporate books and records in order.
• Document resolutions passed by stockholders, the board of directors, or board committees.
• Assist in recommending legal strategy, policy, and course of action in corporate law, sales, contracts, and property.
• Handle special projects and implement assigned tasks by the Chief Legal and Admin Officer and Director for Legal Services.
• Ensure that the company’s rights, interests & obligations based on contracts are properly documented.
• Draft and/or review contracts or agreements to capture all legal commitments and avoid breaches.
• Draft templates of contracts, forms, letters, amendments and addendums for use by business units.
• Render well-researched legal opinions supported by law and jurisprudence.
• Conduct timely legal research and keep management informed of developments.
• Attend skills and knowledge improvement training to upskill and expand capabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Legal and Admin Officer.
• Performance management: develop strategies to help direct reports meet goals.
• Coaching and mentoring: guide direct reports in their responsibilities.
• Employee engagement: promote engagement and commitment.
