Job summary

Al Abbar Aluminum Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Design Team Lead for curtain wall systems. You will coordinate a 4-6 member team, provide technical guidance, and lead design workshops to develop aluminum glass curtain wall concepts and shop drawings.

You will produce plans, elevations, sections, and setting out drawings that meet architectural and structural specs, support installation teams, and ensure timely delivery within project BOQ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aluminum Glass Curtain Wall design.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a design environment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Inventor knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor a 4-6 member design team.

About the role

This role involves coordinating and monitoring a team of 4-6 members in the design of aluminum glass curtain wall systems. You will provide technical guidance, participate in design workshops, and produce accurate plans, elevations, sections, and shop drawings. You will ensure all drawings comply with architectural and structural requirements and approved specifications, while providing technical support to installation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the work of 4-6 team members in line with the Design Team Leader's direction

• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior members of the team

• Participate and actively contribute to design workshops where curtain wall solutions are explored and determined

• Obtain all information related to the project from external and internal sources to produce clear and accurate plans, elevations, sections and shop drawings

• Ensure shop drawings are drawn in accordance with Architectural/Structural requirements and in line with approved BOQ

• Carry out drafting work including concept design, shop drawings, MTO, Cutting List, and Setting Out Drawings in a timely manner

• Carry out design drafting works within the given program as required for the project

• Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams and ensure successful implementation of facade system

About you

• Bachelor's/College Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of Aluminum Glass Curtain Wall

• Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment

• Proficient in using software such as AutoCAD 2D & 3D

• Knowledge in Inventor an advantage

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
