JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial health and operational efficiency. This role manages the full spectrum of financial planning, accounting, treasury, budgeting, audit, and compliance functions. The Sr. Accounting Manager ensures effective financial controls, supports strategic business decisions, and provides insights that drive profitability in a fast-paced retail environment with both outright and consignment operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles for all business units.
- Provide monthly financial analyses, including variance analysis, profitability reporting, sales trend analysis, and cost management.
- Partner with Operations, Merchandising, and HR to ensure financial decisions support company goals.
- Monitor financial KPIs: gross margin, store profitability, inventory turns, shrinkage, cash flows, and OPEX.
B. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee the full accounting cycle: AP, AR, GL, Payroll accounting, Bank reconciliation.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Review all journal entries, adjustments, accruals, and reconciliations.
C. Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage daily cash flow requirements and bank relationships.
- Oversee collections, settlement of consignor payments, and monitoring of post-dated checks.
- Approve disbursements ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Implement strategies for liquidity, investment, and working capital optimization.
D. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and enforce company financial policies and SOPs.
- Strengthen internal control systems to minimize risks (inventory losses, shrinkage, improper discounts, unauthorized expenses).
- Ensure compliance with BIR, LGUs, SEC, DOLE reporting requirements.
- Lead both internal and external audits.
E. Inventory & Retail Operations Support
- Monitor inventory levels, costing, and aging across stores, warehouse, and consignor partners.
- Analyze stock movements, shrinkage reports, and cycle count findings.
- Partner with Merchandising and Operations to ensure healthy inventory turns and proper pricing strategies.
F. Leadership & People Management
- Lead and develop the Finance & Accounting team (Accounting, AR, AP, Treasury, Collections).
- Set performance goals, conduct coaching, and ensure continuous training.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and service-oriented support to key departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy; CPA preferred but not required for highly experienced candidates.
- At least 8–12 years of progressive Finance/Accounting experience, with 5 years in senior leadership.
- Experience in Retail, Restaurant, FMCG, or Multi-store operations is a strong advantage.
- Solid background in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and internal controls.
- Must have experience handling a multi-department finance team.
