Job Description

The Assistant Accounting Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing the company’s accounting operations across multiple business units, including retail, distribution, and e-commerce channels. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, process optimization, and effective supervision of accounting staff within a fast-growing and multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Supervise daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), treasury, and general accounting
• Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Monitor high-volume retail and e-commerce transactions

Multi-Entity & Systems Management

• Oversee accounting operations across multiple legal entities
• Assist in ERP system implementation and optimization (Oracle NetSuite)
• Support POS integration and financial system improvements
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with Philippine tax regulations and statutory requirements
• Monitor timely BIR filings and government remittances
• Strengthen internal controls to prevent fraud and accounting errors
• Support audit preparation and documentation

Process Improvement

• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
• Help establish standardized accounting procedures across companies
• Support the transition to shared service accounting operations

Team Supervision

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Delegate tasks and monitor team performance
• Ensure reporting deadlines and deliverables are met
• Promote cross-functional coordination with other departments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field
