Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedAccounting Managerto lead the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal control functions. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who can establish and strengthen accounting processes within a fast-growing retail organization. The successful candidate will oversee daily accounting activities, ensure compliance with Philippine financial and tax regulations, support business decision-making through accurate financial reporting, and lead a high-performing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain and continuously improve the chart of accounts and accounting processes to support business growth.
• Support the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of ERP or accounting systems.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

Financial Controls & Process Improvement

• Develop, implement, and enhance accounting policies, financial procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure effective financial governance over procurement, cash management, inventory, and expense approval processes.
• Review operating and capital expenditures, including supporting documentation and applicable taxes, before payment processing.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency, automation, and financial controls.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with Philippine tax laws and statutory reporting requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and timely submission of tax returns and government reports.
• Maintain complete and organized documentation to support tax filings, audits, and regulatory examinations.
• Support tax planning initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with external tax consultants and government agencies when necessary.

Leadership & Business Partnership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decision‑making.
• Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
• Additional certifications in finance, accounting, or taxation are an advantage.

Experience

• At least10 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Minimum of3 years of accounting experience within the retail industry, preferably in large‑format retail.
• Proven experience leading or supervising accounting teams.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, or start‑up environment is an advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software is highly preferred.
