Job summary

APL Logistics Ltd. is a global logistics specialist providing ocean product support, rate filing, and FMC compliance oversight for NVOCC operations.

The Specialist leads pricing and tariff management within RMS to ensure accurate, timely filings and robust carrier partnerships. Based in the Philippines, the role focuses on regional vendor analysis, carrier portfolio optimization, and collaboration with NAM Ocean Product teams on RFQ/RFP processes.

Responsibilities

• Support vendor rate and capability analysis
• Continual review of current and potential carriers to maintain a versatile and robust carrier portfolio specific to the region
• Participate in bids and RFPs
• Provide competitive reports for sales team to increase selling opportunities and customer acquisition opportunities
• Review and analyze key customer profitability reports on regular basis and provide input to improving margins and cost optimization or rationalization
• Provision of various regular/periodic lifting reports
• Publish RMS reports as defined and as needed
• Update and publish price tariff tables for major products and trade lanes
• Responsible for maintaining APLL rules, tariff and rates in the RMS to ensure 100% FMC compliance under “self-filer” status
• Maintain and instill processes to ensure FMC compliance for NVOCOC line of business
• Assume the role of gate-keeping as it relates to sell rate filing requirements as set forth under FMC oversight regulation requirements
• Continuous review and implementation of tariff rule management towards APLL’s NVO governing rules and tariffs
• Support/Backup NAM Ocean Product team managers with RFQ/RFP business

Job description

The Specialist, Ocean Product and Pricing provides the forwarding business with International Logistic Product support, as well as including ocean FCL/LCL rate filing support. The incumbent acts as product lead for Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) NVO compliance to ensure rates, tariff and rules are maintained, updated, uploaded timely and accurately in the Rate Management System (RMS).

Key Responsibilities

Pricing and Procurement - Ocean Products

• Support vendor rate and capability analysis
