Sourcing & Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Lotus Logistics LLC is an established U.S.-based company that acts as procurement concierge to federal agencies and SLED customers. We work with a broad range of products including but not limited to industrial equipment, machinery, electrical components, maintenance supplies, office supplies, IT equipment, laboratory products, and specialized government requirements.

We're looking for a resourceful, commercially minded Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to independently manage sourcing of products, negotiate with suppliers, and prepare competitive sourcing packages for government bids.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving challenges, building supplier relationships, and finding the best sourcing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze RFQs: Review technical specifications, compliance requirements, and deadlines.
• Source suppliers: Identify manufacturers and distributors, including for hard-to-find and specialized products.
• Find alternatives: Research and compare equivalent products that meet customer specifications.
• Communicate & negotiate: Proactively call and email U.S. suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and maintain strong relationships.
• Evaluate pricing: Compare quotations, costs, freight, lead times, and potential margins.
• Prepare proposals: Compile pricing, technical documentation, shipping details, and compliance information for bid submissions.
• Manage opportunities: Track RFQs, vendor responses, deadlines, and follow-ups independently.

Qualifications

• Excellent spoken and written English, with confidence communicating and negotiating with U.S. suppliers over the phone.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Tech-savvy, proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, and comfortable using AI tools for research and productivity.
• Ability to understand technical specifications and evaluate equivalent products.
• Experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or B2B sales preferred.
• Experience with U.S. suppliers or government contracting is an advantage.
• Works effectively with a small team.
