Job summary

Royal Cargo Inc. is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer to support the development of competitive logistics solutions, focusing on design, costing, tender prep, and implementation of won accounts in collaboration with Sales, Operations, subcontractors, and suppliers.

You will create solution designs, review tenders, support bid decisions, coordinate with stakeholders, and lead project implementation through to turnover to Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in domestic freight forwarding, courier, logistics, transport pricing, 3PL, or equivalent.
• Experience in transport pricing, solutions design, costing, or 3PL operations is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, planning, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, comfortable handling financial data.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop solution design models, cost analyses, pricing strategies, and documentation for logistics requirements.
• Review RFTs, RFPs, and RFQs; support bid/no-bid decisions and bid reviews.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain rates, costing, and requirements.
• Prepare documentation and coordinate requirements for implementation of won accounts.
• Lead implementation of awarded projects until turnover to Operations.

Job description

he Solutions Design Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of competitive, cost-effective, and operationally feasible logistics solutions for prospective clients. This role focuses on solutions design, transport pricing and costing, tender preparation, and the implementation of won accounts in coordination with Sales, Operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Solutions Design & Costing

• Develop solution design models, cost analyses, pricing strategies, and supporting documentation for logistics requirements.
• Review and analyze Requests for Tender (RFT), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Quotation (RFQ).
• Support bid/no-bid decisions and participate in bid reviews and customer review meetings.
• Conduct process walkthroughs and site ocular inspections to assess client requirements and develop appropriate logistics solutions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and validate rates, costing assumptions, and operational requirements.

Proposal Development & Coordination

• Work closely with Sales and other internal departments in developing competitive and commercially viable proposals.
• Ensure that proposed budgets and pricing are accurate, reasonable, and aligned with client requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the solutions design and proposal process.

Project Implementation

• Prepare the necessary documentation and coordinate requirements for the implementation of won accounts.
• Facilitate internal and external project kick-off activities with clients, Operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Lead the implementation of awarded projects until successful turnover and full endorsement to Operations.

Job Qualifications
