OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The QA Tester is responsible for testing software applications to ensure they work as intended before release. Working under the guidance of a Project Lead or Senior QA, the role focuses on executing test cases, identifying bugs, and verifying fixes across different platforms such as mobile, PC, and web applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Technical / Functional Competency
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of software testing concepts, including functional and regression testing
- Executes test cases based on defined test plans, requirements, and instructions
- Accurately identifies, documents, and reports defects using approved bug tracking tools
- Performs testing across web, mobile, and PC platforms as required
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of test evidence (screenshots, logs, recordings)
- Adheres to established QA processes, documentation standards, and confidentiality policies
2. Quality and Accuracy Orientation
- Maintains strong attention to detail in executing test cases and validating results
- Identifies inconsistencies, defects, and usability issues effectively
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of testing documentation and reports
- Follows structured testing procedures and validation checklists
- Minimizes errors and rework through thorough verification

- Completes assigned testing tasks within defined timelines and productivity targets
- Manages workload effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Follows testing schedules, shift handovers, and reporting requirements

- Communicates defects, test results, and progress clearly and professionally
- Provides structured and detailed bug reports
- Collaborates effectively with Project Leads, QA team members, and other stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS
- At least two (2) years of college education or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of software quality assurance concepts and testing terminology.
- Familiarity with functional testing and bug reporting.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts if required by the project.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills, including use of documents, spreadsheets, and online tools.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and as part of a team.
