Job summary

Vertere Global Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead quality assurance across the software development lifecycle, define test strategies, drive automation, and ensure release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, or Test Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience leading QA initiatives, test teams, or testing workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain testing strategies, coverage models, quality standards, and release quality gates.
• Lead test planning activities for sprints, releases, and project deliverables.
• Establish testing scope, effort estimates, environment requirements, entry/exit criteria, and risk assessments.
• Develop and enforce QA processes, standards, and best practices, including DoR/DoD, test documentation, requirements traceability, and test evidence.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Release teams to assess release readiness and provide quality gate recommendations.
• Deliver regular reporting on test progress, coverage, pass/fail rates, defect trends, and release risks.
• Define and drive automation testing strategy across applications and platforms; integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with DevOps and cross-functional teams to ensure environment readiness and data management.
• Mentor and coach QA Engineers; support onboarding and development of new team members.
• Promote shift-left testing and continuous improvement across processes, frameworks, data management, regression strategies, templates.

Senior Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to lead quality assurance initiatives across the software development lifecycle. This role is responsible for defining test strategies, driving automation, ensuring release readiness, mentoring QA team members, and promoting a culture of quality through collaboration with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy, Planning & Quality Governance

• Define and maintain testing strategies, coverage models, quality standards, and release quality gates.

• Lead test planning activities for sprints, releases, and project deliverables.

• Establish testing scope, effort estimates, environment requirements, entry/exit criteria, and risk assessments.

• Develop and enforce QA processes, standards, and best practices, including:

  • Definition of Ready (DoR)

• Ensure consistent quality governance across all testing activities.

Test Design & Execution Leadership

• Lead the creation, review, and execution of:

• Review business requirements and user stories to ensure they are clear, complete, and testable.

• Identify requirement gaps, risks, and ambiguities early in the development lifecycle.

Defect Management & Release Readiness

• Own the end-to-end defect management process, including:

  • Defect Triage

  • Severity Assessment

  • Root Cause Analysis

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Release teams to assess release readiness.

• Provide quality gate recommendations and release sign-off decisions based on testing outcomes and risk assessments.

• Deliver regular reporting on:

Test Automation & CI/CD Enablement

• Define and drive the automation testing strategy across applications and platforms.

• Identify automation opportunities and establish automation coverage goals.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for frontend, backend, API, and integration testing.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery practices.

• Improve automation reliability by reducing flaky tests, stabilizing test environments, and optimizing execution times.

• Monitor and report automation effectiveness and coverage metrics.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

• Partner with DevOps teams to ensure environment readiness, deployment validation, and effective test data management.

• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to define acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Support production validation, monitoring readiness, and post-deployment verification activities.

• Advocate for a shift-left testing approach by embedding quality practices early in design and development stages.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Mentor and coach QA Engineers through pairing sessions, reviews, and ongoing feedback.

• Support onboarding and development of new team members.

• Define QA roles, responsibilities, and testing ownership within projects.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across:

  • Testing Processes

  • Automation Frameworks

  • Test Data Management

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Learning & Knowledge Sharing

• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, team meetings, and release readiness reviews.

• Communicate QA status, project risks, dependencies, and quality concerns to stakeholders.

• Stay current with emerging testing technologies, tools, methodologies, and industry trends.

• Promote team learning through knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, playbooks, and coaching activities.

• Share testing best practices, automation techniques, and quality engineering strategies across the organization.
