Job summary

Greenstone Packaging Corporation is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to ensure regulatory compliance and proper operation of environmental facilities at our Laguna site. The role emphasizes managing environmental programs, audits, and stakeholder communications while promoting a safe workplace.

The ideal candidate has a background in Engineering, relevant licenses, and 1–3 years of HSE experience, with BOSH/SOX2 and PCO credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or four-year course; technical knowledge required.
• Licenses/certifications: BOSH/SOX2 training or PCO accreditation.
• 1–3 years experience in Health and Safety Environmental program implementation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with PD1586, RA6969, RA8749, RA9003, RA9275 and IRRs.
• Identify environmental aspects/impacts and suggest mitigations in EMS/Contingency Plan.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of EMS facilities (WTP, air pollution devices, MRF, monitoring devices).
• Ensure hazardous wastes are disposed and COTs available.
• Monitor compliance and submit environmental reports.
• Lead environmental management campaigns and trainings.
• Act as liaison to EMB and stay updated on requirements.
• Possess DENR/LLDA accreditation and safety officer experience.

Job description

Overview:

Responsible for providing health and safety services and technical person competent in pollution control and environmental management and spearheads legal compliances and stakeholder management of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures compliance with the requirements of PD1586, RA6969, RA 8749, RA9003, RA9275 and all applicable environmental requirements and their respective implementing rules and regulation (IRRs).
• Identifies significant environmental aspects and impacts of the operational activities and recommends mitigating measures in the formulation of the Environmental Management Plan and Contingency Plan.
• Ensure proper performance, operation and maintenance of all environmental management facilities or systems such as wastewater treatment facility, Air pollution devices, Material Recovery facility (MRF), and Environmental monitoring devices.
• Ensures that hazardous wastes are properly disposed and that corresponding Certificate of Treatment (COT) are available.
• Monitors compliances to requirements of the Environmental Compliance Certificate and the submission of the necessary environmental reports and submissions.
• Initiate and intensify environmental management activities and information awareness campaigns.
• Acts as liaison officer to EMB, and keep himself abreast with the requirements.
• Previous PCO experience and accreditation with DENR or LLDA, Has BOSH Certification and training, and experience as a Safety Officer.

Requirements:

• Graduate of bachelor's degree in Engineering (favorably) or any 4-year course.

• Technical Knowledge/Work Experience required.
• Licenses or Certification.
• BOSH SO2 Training / PCO certification.
• 1-3 years experience in Health and Safety Environmental program implementation.
• Licensed Engineer (any Engineering profession).
