Job summary

APWTech is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage Genetec Security Center and related enterprise systems. The role spans infrastructure, security technologies, and operational technology environments, with focus on access control, video surveillance, and security operations platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in enterprise ICT, hands-on Genetec Security Center expertise, and proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, implementation, administration, maintenance, integration, and lifecycle management of enterprise ICT systems and infrastructure.
• Minimum of (5) years of hands-on experience with Genetec Security Center administration, implementation, or support is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise platforms including physical security systems, emergency communications, business-critical applications, or other operational technology solutions.
• Experience managing system implementations, upgrades, migrations, proof-of-concept activities, technology evaluations, and operational transition for enterprise ICT systems.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams, vendors, systems integrators, and business stakeholders throughout the system lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Genetec Security Center and related enterprise systems.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, storage, licensing, and capacity.
• Perform preventive maintenance, system upgrades, patching, and backup validation.
• Develop recommendations to improve system reliability, security, and performance.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, application, database, network, and integration issues.
• Coordinate with vendors, stakeholders, and technical teams to resolve complex incidents.
• Support system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Assist with onboarding new sites, devices, users, and technology solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, testing plans, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
• Support integrations with enterprise systems, identity management platforms, and business applications.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability management, access controls, disaster recovery, and system hardening.
• Ensure systems comply with organizational security and governance standards.

The role will initially focus on Genetec Security Center, including access control, video surveillance, and security operations systems, while also supporting infrastructure, cybersecurity, system integrations, upgrades, and future technology initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Systems Administration & Operations
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Genetec Security Center and related enterprise systems.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, storage, licensing, and capacity.

• Technical Support & Incident Management

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise platforms including physical security systems, emergency communications, business‑critical applications, or other operational technology solutions.
• Experience managing system implementations, upgrades, migrations, proof‑of‑concept activities, technology evaluations, and operational transition for enterprise ICT systems.
• Experience coordinating with cross‑functional teams, vendors, systems integrators, and business stakeholders throughout the system lifecycle

Technical Knowledge

• Enterprise ICT architecture, systems administration, application lifecycle management, systems integration, infrastructure operations, and technology governance.
• Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, system monitoring, and enterprise networking.

Experience with one or more of the following technologies is desirable:

• Enterprise security management platforms (including Genetec Security Center).
• Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, backup and recovery solutions, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Network infrastructure, remote administration tools, endpoint management, cybersecurity solutions, vulnerability management platforms, and ticketing systems.
• Enterprise collaboration, reporting, documentation, and project management tools.
• Physical security systems, visitor management solutions, emergency communications technologies, and other enterprise operational technology platforms.

Certification

Professional certifications relevant to enterprise ICT systems are desirable, including one or more of the following:

• Genetec Technical Certification (preferred for the initial scope of work)
• Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent
• Cisco, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent networking certification
• Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent)
• ITIL Foundation or higher
• Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification
• Cloud platform certifications (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) are an advantage.
