Smart Outsourcing Solution in the Philippines is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to anchor our new Baguio development team. You will work with our Director of Innovation to turn product goals into production-ready software, outlining architecture and guiding three mid-level engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong production experience in Go, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing and operating APIs, backend services, or distributed systems.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform, Docker, Linux, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across multiple parts of a system.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical decisions without bottlenecks.
• Strong professional English for meetings, documentation, and updates.
• Experience using AI coding agents as part of a professional engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support software across our cloud platform, integrations, edge applications, and hardware-connected systems.
• Translate product requirements into technical plans and milestones.
• Make architecture decisions balancing speed, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring for the Baguio team.
• Establish engineering practices for testing, docs, deployment, monitoring, and incident follow-up.
• Build and maintain integrations with Shopify and other platforms.
• Troubleshoot issues across APIs, services, databases, networks, device software, RFID readers, scanners, printers.
• Collaborate with product, support, operations, and US leadership to understand real customer usage.
• Leverage AI coding agents to accelerate development and testing.
