Job description

We're looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our team in Madrid, Spain in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining ServiceNow solutions to enhance efficiency and improve user experience across critical IT processes. You will work on Business Request Catalog, case management and custom components for self-service portals, leveraging best practices to deliver sustainable, upgrade-safe solutions.

This is a hands-on development role with high visibility, where you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, ensure smooth integrations and drive automation initiatives that add measurable value to the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ServiceNow solutions focused on Business Request Catalog and ticketing
• Build and optimize self-service portal components, including custom widgets and forms for enhanced UX
• Develop reusable client- and server-side scripts (e.g., Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts) for process automation
• Implement system integrations to streamline processes such as onboarding and service requests
• Prioritize out-of-the-box functionality to deliver sustainable and upgrade-friendly solutions
• Gather requirements, translate business needs into technical designs and produce fit-for-purpose implementations
• Ensure robust testing, documentation and deployment of all developments in agile iterations
• Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis and apply fixes across environments (DEV, UAT, PROD)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API and ServiceNow scripting
• Experience developing Service Portal elements, including custom widgets and front-end enhancements
• Familiarity with REST web services, SOAP integrations and messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka)
• Strong knowledge of ITIL-based Incident, Request and Case Management modules
• Understanding of integration patterns (MID Server, API-based) and data migration techniques
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required; Application Developer or Implementation Specialist certification preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and ensure compliance with security and performance standards
• Excellent communication skills to engage both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of security, compliance and governance standards in regulated industries

Nice to have

• Experience designing automation strategies and workflow engines
