Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant field and professional QS qualification preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years post-qualification experience in construction.
• Extensive cost estimation, BOQ management and contract documentation experience.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine construction standards and contracts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from drawings.
• Control project costs, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
• Manage BOQ, material and labour assessments with accuracy.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and engineers to clarify specs.
• Conduct site measurements and verify quantities against contracts.

About the role

Philippine SteelFraming Construction and Development Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor .This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the financial and contractual management of our construction projects. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate cost estimation, budget control, and financial viability across our portfolio of steel framing and construction developments. This position is integral to our project success, directly influencing profitability, client satisfaction, and the strategic direction of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for construction projects from architectural and engineering drawings

• Monitor and control project costs throughout all phases of construction, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures

• Manage bills of quantities (BOQ) and ensure accuracy in material and labour assessments

• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects and engineers to clarify specifications and resolve quantity-related issues

• Conduct site measurements and inspections to verify quantities and ensure compliance with contract specifications

• Prepare variation orders, claims and change order documentation with supporting justifications

• Maintain comprehensive project cost records and produce regular financial reports for management and stakeholders

• Provide expert advice on cost-saving opportunities and value engineering initiatives

• Manage subcontractor quotations and supplier pricing to optimise project budgets

• Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveying staff, providing guidance and professional development

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, contractual obligations and professional surveying practices

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline

• Professional qualification as a Quantity Surveyor (PQS, ARICS or equivalent) is highly desirable

• Minimum 8+ years of post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry

• Extensive experience with steel frame construction projects and structural steelwork cost management

• Proven expertise in preparing accurate bills of quantities, cost estimates and contract documentation

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, conditions of contract and contractual obligations

• Advanced proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders

• Experience supervising and mentoring junior surveying professionals

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results under pressure

• Knowledge of Philippine construction standards, building codes and regulatory requirements is advantageous
