Qualifications

About the role

We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and correctness of our payments platform — while driving how the team tests going forward. This role blends deep hands‑on testing expertise with a strong bent toward automation and modern tooling. You'll be trusted to find the gaps other people miss, and to build the systems that catch them automatically next time.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-end quality ownership for core payment flows — transaction processing, refunds/reversals, reconciliation, and error handling

• Designing and building automated test frameworks that scale with the platform, not just point-in-time test scripts

• Identifying edge cases, failure modes, and regressions before they reach production

• Design and build automation and AI-assisted tools — such as test generation, failure triage, or synthetic test data — that reduce manual testing effort across the team

• Partnering closely with engineering to shape testability into the product from the start, not bolt it on after

• Mentoring other QA engineers on both testing rigor and automation practice

About you

• 5+ years in QA/test engineering, ideally within a complex, transactional, or regulated software environment

• Strong experience building automated test frameworks (API-level and end-to-end), not just executing manual test plans

• Comfortable working with distributed systems, asynchronous processes, and high‑stakes data integrity requirements

• Scripting/engineering fluency (Python, JavaScript, or similar) — you build your own tools rather than waiting on someone else

• Sharp analytical instincts — you're the person who asks "what happens if this fails halfway through" before anyone else does

• Has used AI-assisted tooling to generate test cases, triage failures, or speed up regression analysis in a production setting

• Actively looks for repetitive, manual QA work and automates it rather than accepting it as "just how testing works here."

• Can talk through a specific example of replacing a manual process with an automated or AI-assisted one, including what still requires human judgment

• Stays current on emerging QA/test-automation tooling and is comfortable evaluating and introducing new approaches

Nice to have

• Experience testing systems with strict compliance, security, or regulatory requirements

• Exposure to CI/CD pipeline design and integration of automated testing into deployment workflows

• Background in fintech, payments, or other high-integrity transactional domains
