Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Python Engineer for a 100% remote, dayshift role. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python, FastAPI, and Linux-based infrastructures.

You will contribute to architecture decisions, automation, testing, and deployment pipelines while working with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has 6–8+ years of Python experience, strong Linux expertise, and hands-on experience with Docker, Ansible, and Pytest.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Strong expertise in Python backend development.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong expertise in Linux systems and environments.
• Hands-on Linux system administration, shell scripting, server configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• Strong experience with Pytest for automated testing.
• Solid understanding of scalable system design and distributed systems.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and optimize high-performance RESTful APIs.
• Develop clean, modular backend systems and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Manage Linux-based development and production environments.
• Perform Linux server administration and scripting for reliability.
• Containerize applications with Docker and automate infrastructure with Ansible.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Develop and maintain automated tests with Pytest.
• Collaborate with Frontend, Product, and Infrastructure teams.
