Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer Level III (Full-Stack) to lead architecture and hands-on delivery of scalable backend systems and rich frontends. You will own end-to-end design, drive best practices, and shape data models that evolve with product needs.

You will build features across React/Angular frontends and Node.js microservices, craft robust APIs, and implement observability, testing, and event-driven workflows with AWS services. Remote-friendly collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full stack experience with system design on complex platforms.
• Ability to define architectural principles and drive best practices.
• Experience making high-impact design trade-offs for scalability, cost, and maintainability.
• Strong data modeling skills for scalable schemas and structures.
• Proficiency with Node.js and production-grade microservices.
• MongoDB expertise including schema design and indexing.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures (AWS SNS/SQS).
• Proficient in React and/or Angular 2+ for modern frontend apps.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools and dashboards.
• Strong testing mindset across unit, integration, and E2E tests.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end system design for high-scale backend platforms across full lifecycle.
• Define architectural principles and best practices to raise quality across the team.
• Make high-impact design decisions balancing scalability, performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Design data models that evolve with the product.
• Design, develop, and maintain full stack features across React/Angular frontends and Node.js backend.
• Build and evolve RESTful and event-driven APIs, well-tested and documented.
• Use MongoDB to design schemas and write efficient queries at scale.
• Develop event-driven workflows using AWS SNS/SQS for reliable async flows.
• Instrument services with monitoring, dashboards, and tracing to ensure health.
• Collaborate with product/design/growth and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
