Job summary

KCAT, Inc. is seeking a network operations engineer in the Philippines to support core routing, incident response, and performance tuning. You will manage triage, escalations, firmware updates, and monitoring dashboards to ensure continuity of service across PPOE/IPOE and related systems.

The role emphasizes structured troubleshooting, capacity planning, and hands-on maintenance of CORE devices, with guidance to staff on safe change execution.

Responsibilities

• Incident Command: triage, isolate, restore; coordinate escalations; run RCA; update stakeholders.
• Core router operation and troubleshooting for stability and redundancy.
• Maintain subscriber session performance and scale (PPPoE/IPoE); troubleshoot auth policy issues.
• Configure and troubleshoot OLT/PON alarms, events and LOS issues; coordinate firmware changes.
• Build and maintain SNMP monitoring and alert dashboards.
• Ensure VM/service availability (cluster/host health and storage).
• Create, update and maintain MOP, diagrams and configuration backups.
• Initiate and run maintenance on CORE devices, including config changes and firmware upgrades.
• Capacity planning using trends across PONs/BNG/BRAS and CORE links.
• Coach staff on structured troubleshooting and safe change execution.
