Job summary

peoplegig is seeking a proactive Senior Modular Estimator for our expanding team. The role focuses roughly 60% on estimating and 40% on coordination and project support, leveraging skills in structural steel, drafting, and procurement.

Training is provided for modular construction, with strong cross-team collaboration across remote environments. The position offers a fully remote setup, with annual workload aligned to AU time zones and international project exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within structural steel, fabrication, construction, or related industries.
• Strong ability to prepare quantity take-offs and BOQs from multiple drawing sources.
• Experience interpreting structural, fabrication, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam for estimating workflows.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for pricing, analysis, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and quantity take-offs from drawings.
• Review project documentation to identify scope gaps, risks, and cost considerations.
• Interpret shop drawings to develop competitive estimates.
• Prepare and manage tender submissions within required timelines.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Maintain pricing records and estimating documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and pricing accuracy.
• Coordinate with drafting, procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders on scope, timelines, and technical requirements.
• Assist in reviewing drawings to ensure constructability and commercial accuracy.
• Raise questions proactively and identify potential issues before pricing.
• Support project delivery by coordinating changes and documentation during estimating.
