Job summary

Halo Recruiting is partnering with a growing U.S.-based tech company to hire a Manual QA Engineer in the Philippines. This role focuses on manual testing, collaborating with developers and the SDET, and ensuring quality throughout the software lifecycle.

The candidate should have 5+ years in manual QA, some automation exposure, and comfort with Git. Night shifts align with U.S. Eastern Time. This is an independent contractor engagement with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional manual QA experience.
• Exposure to test automation is a plus.
• Experience testing modern web applications.
• Strong QA methodologies and best practices.
• Experience writing test cases and detailed bug reports.
• Familiarity with Git workflows.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps or GitHub Issues.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual testing for new features, enhancements, defects, and releases.
• Develop and maintain detailed test cases, plans, and regression suites.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and verify defects with clear bug reports.
• Participate in bug triage and collaborate with developers to validate issues.
• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and release testing to improve quality.
• Use Git as part of the development workflow when reviewing changes.
• Collaborate with the SDET to improve test coverage and QA processes.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and readiness to the team.
• Maintain organized QA documentation and testing processes.
