Job summary

SUMO Services Corporation in the Philippines seeks a seasoned insolvency and restructuring professional to oversee engagements from appointment to completion. You will analyze financials, prepare reports, manage deadlines, and communicate with creditors and stakeholders.

You will work independently, identify next steps, supervise junior staff, and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables across complex matters involving liquidations and restructurings.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting/finance required.
• CPA or equivalent qualification or progress toward one preferred.
• 4–6+ years in insolvency, restructuring, or corporate recovery.
• Strong accounting and financial analysis abilities.
• Ability to prepare professional reports and workpapers.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day progression of insolvency and restructuring engagements, including liquidations, voluntary administrations, deeds of company arrangement, small business restructurings, and other corporate recovery matters.
• Review financial statements, general ledgers, bank accounts, and accounting records, and prepare cash flow, solvency, deficiency, and other financial analyses.
• Undertake investigations into insolvent trading, unfair preferences, uncommercial or director-related transactions, and other potential recoveries.
• Prepare high-quality first drafts of reports to creditors, ASIC reports, investigation memoranda, statutory correspondence, and supporting workpapers.
• Assist with asset realisations, debtor recoveries, proofs of debt, creditor adjudications, employee entitlements, and distributions.
• Communicate directly and professionally with directors, creditors, lawyers, accountants, employees, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain complete files, workpapers, and file notes; monitor statutory deadlines; and proactively progress matters.
• Identify technical or commercial issues, make recommendations, and escape material matters to the Director.
• Provide guidance to junior team members where required.
