Job summary

SUMO Services Corporation seeks a Senior Insolvency & Restructuring Accountant to work with our Australian Director, handling day-to-day insolvency matters end-to-end, from investigations and financial analysis to reporting and stakeholder communications.

You will progress next steps on files, coordinate with directors, creditors, and lawyers, and contribute high-quality workpapers and correspondence. Ideally you have 4–6+ years in insolvency/restructuring and CPA/CA or progress toward one.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of relevant insolvency/restructuring experience.
• Australian insolvency experience preferred.
• CPA/CA or equivalent qualification preferred.

Job description

Job Overview: The Senior Insolvency & Restructuring Accountant will work directly with our Australian Director and should be capable of taking responsibility for the day-to-day progression of insolvency matters end-to-end, including:

• Investigations and financial analysis;
  Liquidations, administrations and restructuring matters;
  ASIC and creditor reporting;
  Preparing high-quality technical workpapers and correspondence;
  Communicating directly with directors, creditors, lawyers and other stakeholders; and
  Proactively identifying and progressing the next steps on a file.
  

Requirements

• 1. We are targeting someone with approximately 4–6+ years of relevant insolvency/restructuring experience.

• 2. Australian insolvency experience would be strongly preferred, particularly someone who has previously worked directly with an Australian insolvency or accounting practice.
  3. CPA, CA or an equivalent qualification, or substantial progress toward one, would also be preferred.
