Job summary

Helix Mining and Development Corporation is seeking an experienced H&S Superintendent to develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and aligning site programs with corporate HS&S policies.

The role provides high-level support to site Safety Engineers, leads investigations and risk analyses, and drives ongoing improvements to promote a strong HS&S culture across operations.

Qualifications

• College graduate of any 5-year engineering course.
• At least 5 years of experience in safety-conscious organization.
• Licensed Engineer.
• MGB Certified Safety Engineer or Safety Inspector.
• Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the performance of the Safety Engineers.
• Ensure effective implementation of H&S initiatives and activities to promote a strong H&S culture.
• Serve as the on-site advisor for all H&S concerns.
• Lead H&S activities such as investigations, inspections, surveys and related assessments.
• Conduct regular risk and hazard analyses, recommend corrective actions, and ensure their effective implementation.
• Analyze accidents and incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective action plans.
• Monitor developments in health, safety and security implementation and adjust programs as necessary.
• Review corporate H&S policy, update and ensure alignment at the site level.
• Ensure full compliance with all mandatory and regulatory H&S reporting requirements.
• Validate H&S data and reports and track overall safety performance.
