Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a Technical Development Engineer to drive the systematic technical development of grid-scale renewable energy and energy storage investments. Reporting to the Head of Project Development, you will oversee technical management for greenfield and expansion projects through appraisal, pre‑feasibility, feasibility, tendering and engineering design.

You will lead technical scoping, site investigations, contractor management, project controls, and regulatory alignment,

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in engineering design, technical management, tendering, and construction of renewable energy and energy storage projects.
Deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, power systems, and grid integration.
Experience in technical contract management, consultant quality control, and due diligence.

Responsibilities

Scope and execute early stage design and pre-construction activities for renewables and energy storage projects.
Design and supervise site investigations and manage power systems engineering requirements.
Lead technical bidding, negotiations, and oversight of external consultants.
Track project KPIs, assess technical risks, and prepare appraisal reports.
Coordinate permitting, ROW, grid interconnection, and board handovers.
