Job summary

Excel Australasia is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to lead creative projects across marketing materials, product design, branding, print, digital, and signage. Job description

We’re looking for a talented and experiencedSenior Graphic Designerto lead a variety of creative projects acrossmarketing materials, product design, branding, print, digital, and signage.

The ideal candidate is confident taking projects fromconcept and design development through pre-press and final production, with strong creative judgment and technical knowledge. You’ll also provide guidance to junior designers and collaborate with Account Managers and Production teams to deliver high-quality work.

About the Role

As a Senior Graphic Designer, you’ll develop creative solutions based on client briefs and business objectives. You’ll work across a range of marketing and product materials, ensuring designs are visually compelling, brand-consistent, and technically ready for production.

You’ll also contribute to improving design workflows, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the development of junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design projects fromconcept through final production.
• Develop creative concepts and artwork formarketing materials, product designs, packaging, brochures, catalogues, flyers, posters, digital assets, templates, and signage.
• Create new product designs and translate ideas into practical, production-ready artwork.
• Develop and maintain artwork templates and branded design systems.
• Prepare andpreflight print-ready artwork, ensuring correct colour, resolution, bleed, trim, fonts, overprint, and PDF specifications.
• Review proofs and artwork forcreative accuracy, technical quality, and production requirements.
• Work with Account Managers, Production teams, and suppliers to resolve design and production issues.
• Ensure consistency across branding, typography, layouts, imagery, and visual assets.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
• Providecreative direction, feedback, and mentorshipto junior designers.
• Identify opportunities to improve design and production workflows.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience creatingmarketing and promotional materials, product designs, and branded assets.
• Strong knowledge ofpre-press and print production.
• Excellent understanding of typography, layout, composition, colour, branding, and visual hierarchy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify creative and technical issues.
• Ability to interpret briefs and develop effective visual solutions independently.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior designers.

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency inAdobe Creative Cloud, particularly:

• Adobe InDesign– page layout, styles, master pages, preflight, packaging, and print production.
• Adobe Illustrator– vector artwork, branding, illustrations, product graphics, and production artwork.
• Adobe Photoshop– image editing, retouching, colour correction, and compositing.
• Adobe Acrobat– PDF checking, preflight, separations, overprint, fonts, and production review.
• Strong knowledge ofCMYK, RGB, Pantone/spot colours, colour profiles, bleed, trim, resolution, and print-ready PDF standards.
• Knowledge of different print processes, substrates, and finishing methods is an advantage.
