Job summary

COMMSEC INC. seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead engineering design for utility-scale power plants, substations, and renewables. You will oversee HV/MV system design from concept through commissioning and ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, interface with clients and vendors, and coordinate with NGCP and other Philippine authorities on permitting and approvals.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in Electrical Engineering and solid foundational training in high- and medium-voltage systems.
• Licensure as PEE/Registered Professional Electrical Engineer is highly preferred.
• Experience with utility-scale substations up to 115kV/230kV/500kV and renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design for SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts for HV/MV plants.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, grounding analyses.
• Specify equipment data sheets for transformers, switchgear, relays, inverters, cables.
• Coordinate grid interconnection studies per grid codes and utility rules.
• Oversee deliverables, budgets, and schedules across multiple projects.
• Conduct design reviews ensuring compliance with IEEE/IEC/NEC/ANSI and local regs.
• Mentor junior engineers and interface with clients, vendors, and authorities.
