Qualifications & experience:
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum 3 years of daily usage in electrical design)
- Familiar and knowledgeable with ETAP (Short Circuit Analysis, Grounding Calculation, Load Flow, Arc Flash Analysis)
- Can do illumination Calculations using Dialux for indoor and Outdoor applications.
- Written and Oral Communication Skills (English)
- Knowledgeable with Insulation Coordination Study
- Familiarity with HV/MV Equipment Specification
- Working knowledge of Philippine Electrical Code, IEC Standards for HV/MV equipment, and IEEE substation design standards
- Detail Oriented and can work with minimum supervision
- Willing to be relocated or capable of conducting site detailed investigation
- Position requires 30% domestic travel for site investigations, typically 2-3 days per visit
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering & Licensed Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and current Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) registration with the Philippine Regulation Commission
- Know about doing Electrical Layouts in Substation Design such as Substation Scheme Configuration General Arrangement Plan Section and Elevation Grounding Layout
- Experience in HV Transmission Substation is preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HV Transmission Substation design and implementation
Tasks & responsibilities:
Design of electrical power substations. This includes preparing drawings such as Layout, Sections, and details for substations as well as grounding, foundation layout, and Cable Routing plans.
- Evaluate and check complex design documents: design criteria, design reports, technical provisions, technical data sheets, plans, calculation sheets
- Facilitates interdisciplinary design review adhering to design specifications, guidelines, and standards.
- Conducts actual inspection of substation sites, coordination meetings, and other complex design-related activities on various stages of project implementation and collaborates with the Supervisor in assessing technical problems on the construction and recommends solutions;
- Participates in the substation site selection and makes recommendations in consideration of constructability, technical compliance, and economic aspect
- Provides technical assistance during site inspection, pre-bid conference, bid clarifications, and amendments to the technical procurement department for projects
- Acts as Design Team Lead for the composite team from different Design Divisions implementing a specific substation project that collaborates to assess technical problems seen during the preparation of design documents and recommends solutions as applicable
