Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Global Excellence Centre in Manila, Philippines. The role focuses on managing technical aspects of smaller tasks within a global design environment and coordinating small teams of engineers and technicians.

Based in Manila, you will work closely with regional offices to deliver high-quality design solutions, enforce health and safety practices, and mentor junior staff while driving technical and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and professional licensure as required in the GEC country.
• Excellent written and oral English.
• 5–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong drainage design experience to Australian standards, NSW RMS; VIC experience valued.
• Proficient with design software: 12D, Storm and Sanitary, HEC-RAS, MUSIC.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar.
• Local or Expatriate status.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with other design disciplines applying engineering management solutions to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
• Agree and implement task delivery approach in collaboration with Arcadis regional office colleagues.
• Manage selected tasks, taking responsibility for resource allocation and successful delivery.
• Provide management and technical advice to junior project team members.
• Work alongside team leadership.
• Operate at a level consistent with a senior engineering professional.
• When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, take responsibility for assisting with the preparation of budgets, monitoring progress, identifying out of scope works and forecasting as appropriate.
• When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be driving task performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring delivery is above expectation.
• When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be communicating with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the delivery strategy, brief and project requirements When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be managing the acquisition, deployment and management of resources for the task to ensure optimal resource allocation.
• Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise Propose technical methodologies to deliver task requirements.
• Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design Undertake verification checking of elements of work.
• Undertake a leading assurance role to quality-assure outputs (e.g. drawings, reports, specifications, etc.) to ensure that they meet or exceed expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and that they comply with national standards and codes of practice.
• Review completed engineering work to ensure that it meets specified standards.
• Identify information sources and plan activities to obtain and process data.
• Provide support to Project Management in Arcadis regional offices articulating necessary changes to task requirements and assisting with the quantification of the impact on schedule and fee.
• Promote awareness of technical and commercial risk assessments and mitigation together with best value design options.
• Monitor the performance of team members identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues Plan, schedule and monitor work to meet deadlines.
• Present technical solutions to the team, Task Managers and Project Managers in Arcadis' regional offices.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables on behalf of engineering discipline.
• Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile
