Job summary

Arcadis Global Excellence Centre (GEC) in Manila is seeking a Senior Engineer to manage technical aspects of smaller tasks and coordinate teams in a global design consultancy. The role supports Australian projects and offers international work experience through Arcadis’ networks.

You will lead single-discipline tasks, ensure quality and timely delivery, and work with regional offices to optimize resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent and formally licensed to act as a professional engineer (if required in their Arcadis GEC country)
Excellent written and oral English language
Possess 5-10 years of relevant professional experience
Strong drainage design experience in using Australian standards/codes, NSW Roads and Maritime Standards and specifications; experience in VIC and RMS will be highly regarded
Demonstrated experience of working independently and the ability to work in a complex, challenging environment
Proficient in Design Software (eg 12D, Storm and Sanitary, HEC-RAS, MUSIC)
Knowledgeable in Autocad or similar
Local or Expatriate

Responsibilities

Apply Arcadis Health and Safety Principles during the planning and delivery of work
Perform role in accordance with the Arcadis behavioral framework
Support the management of performance and behaviors of more junior staff
Promote the culture of the business
Work in collaboration with other design disciplines applying engineering management solutions to ensure the integrity of the overall design
Agree and implement task delivery approach in collaboration with Arcadis regional office colleagues
Manage selected tasks, taking responsibility for resource allocation and successful delivery
Provide management and technical advice to junior project team members
Work alongside team leadership
Operate at a level consistent with a senior engineering professional
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, take responsibility for assisting with the preparation of budgets, monitoring progress, identifying out of scope works and forecasting as appropriate
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be driving task performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring delivery is above expectation
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be communicating with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the delivery strategy, brief and project requirements
When appointed in the role of a Task Manager, will be managing the acquisition, deployment and management of resources for the task to ensure optimal resource allocation
Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise Propose technical methodologies to deliver task requirements
Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design Undertake verification checking of elements of work
Undertake a leading assurance role to quality-assure outputs (e.g. drawings, reports, specifications, etc.) to ensure that they meet or exceed expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and that they comply with national standards and codes of practice
Review completed engineering work to ensure that it meets specified standards
Identify information sources and plan activities to obtain and process data
Promote awareness of technical and commercial risk assessments and mitigation together with best value design options
Monitor the performance of team members identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues Plan, schedule and monitor work to meet deadlines
Present technical solutions to the team, Task Managers and Project Managers in Arcadis’ regional offices
Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables on behalf of engineering discipline
Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings
Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile
