Job summary

Manulife Financial is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to design, develop, and interpret risk metrics for business, technology, and cybersecurity. You will work within GBS COO – Business Insights & Analytics to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and performance.

The role requires 5–7 years in analytics or risk, strong data storytelling, and advanced Excel and BI tool skills. Hybrid work arrangement applies, with onsite and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5–7 years of analytics, risk, cybersecurity, or technology governance experience.
• Strong ability to interpret large data sets and identify trends and risks.
• Hybrid work readiness to work onsite and from home as needed.
• Proven ability to translate technical data into business insights.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (Power Query & VBA) and PowerPoint; BI tools like Python, R, PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView/ Sense.
• Experience in data analysis, ETL, data storytelling, dashboards, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze trends across KRIs, KCIs, and KPIs to identify risks and weaknesses.
• Provide analytical input to improve metric design, thresholds, and signal quality.
• Develop executive insights and narratives for risk committees and leadership.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Technology teams to interpret metric results.
• Support thematic reviews and challenge metrics that lack meaningful insight.
• Evolve the technology risk metrics framework and reporting approach.
• Analyze breach trends and systemic risk patterns to inform decisions.
