Job summary

Hijo Resources Corporation is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to support the business units with comprehensive legal analysis and risk assessment. The role includes drafting and negotiating diverse agreements, filing pleadings, and representing the company in courts and administrative bodies.

The candidate will liaise with government offices to secure permits and ensure regulatory compliance across subsidiaries.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Philippine Bar admission.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience as litigator and/or corporate lawyer.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Proficient with standard office software and legal research tools.

Responsibilities

Provide legal support across the Hijo Group and identify legal risks.
Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and corporate documents; create templates.
Draft and file pleadings in court for company cases.
Represent the company in courts and in quasi-judicial/administrative bodies (e.g., DOLE/NLRC).
Liaise with government offices and private entities for permits, licenses, and certifications.
Ensure regulatory compliance and track deadlines for corporate requirements and reports.
Assist superior on special projects, land acquisitions, and legal compliance tasks.
Conduct legal research and prepare affidavits, pleadings, position papers, and contracts.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
